It is a blessing being able to share the message of my music. I have had the opportunity to share in homeless shelters, churches, public libraries, municipal gardens, charitable foundations and conferences. It's rewarding, seeing people respond and be encouraged - like a feeling that's hard to put into words. Many times, these events end with a financial blessing, but often, especially in these economic times, there are no funds available. I really don't want money to be the reason Ican't share my music, and this is where you come in.
Through your participation in my membership program, you will partner with me to spread the message of hope and encouragement. By being a JTMember, you make it possible for me to share my music in places like The Bridge, a homeless shelter in Dallas, TX. I shared my music there recently during lunch and below are a few insights I gained from the
experience.
INSIGHTS FROM THE BRIDGE:
It was a revelation playing at the Bridge (one of Dallas’s largest homeless shelters). So many of the people crave and appreciate the music and the personal interaction. Many seem to hang on every lyric and accept the message as one just for them. That’s the beauty of the Holy Spirit taking control. He makes the words specific to individuals and speaks straight to their spirit.
Every time I go, there are a couple of people who sit right in front of me ready to listen, soak in the music and engage. As I spoke about the Lord, the stories and messages behind each song, one man in particular would nod and voice agreement. You could see that the Spirit of the Lord was inside of him. It was written all over his demeanor.
It made me think about how I used to view the homeless........
